Her royal highness

As many of you know we have a goat...named Rosie. Well, we are now calling her the royal highness, as she thinks she owns the place. She has started a new thing where she actually scales the fence between our paddock and gets into the neighbors paddock, just because she wants to. We just hope our neighbor doesn't think we put her in his paddock! :) Our neighbor has this black and white cow who is still quite young, and well, Rosie wants to be friends, so every time the cow moos, Rosie bleats...it's kind of cute. I am happy to report that Rosie does like me now, and actually will follow me around the yard just wanting to be around me. She is a bit cheeky though, as you can see in the photo...she has an attitude...sticks her tongue out and all.

Dog beach

Now that the weather has started to warm up, Darran and I are venturing down to the beach a lot more to get some exercise. Not a bad place to see while exercising, right? :) Anyway... there are several different trails that you can go on that lead you through sand dunes, tea trees, gum trees and kangaroos and we have fun exploring all the different trails. On this particular day, we headed down a new trail into some new sand dunes. It was beautiful! As we rounded the bend, we were met by these two adorable black labs. A mom and her pup. There was no one in sight and as we walked along the beach they followed. They were beautiful dogs so we knew that they were well taken care of. After playing in the sand dunes with them for a while and hoping that their owners would show up, we decided to take them and call the pound so that they could get a good feed and locate their owners. They both had tags on, so the pound was happy to take them and give their owners a call. We would have loved to have kept them, they were great dogs! Who I'm happy to report are home with their owners! :)

Rainbow's end

Most of you know about our "surprise" trip to Utah for July, and how it didn't actually happen. We had spent the week in Dandenong at Darran's parents house waiting for a call to head to the airport to get on our flight. We did get a call from "ticket guy" telling us to head to the airport that we would finally be flying out. So we headed to the airport and ended up spending the day there waiting for a flight that was no where to be found. After calling Darran's parents to come back and get us we decided that it was time to go home and left the thoughts of surprising family in Utah at the curb. On our drive home I saw a rainbow in the distance. As we got closer to the rainbow, you could actually see where it was touching down on both sides. It also had a double rainbow and it was truly the brightest rainbow that we both had ever seen. Good thing I had our camera close, I started snapping away and these are some of the shots that I got. I have to say after such a disappointing couple of weeks, seeing this rainbow was a boost to both our spirits!
