It's 10:45 pm on the first day of the film shoot. We've been up since 5:30. It has been a fantastic day and Darran is so happy with the way things are going. It's truly amazing! How blessed we have been! We are being watched over and guided so far with the movie.
Four days ago, Darran got a call from the camera guy who said that he needed to confirm the dates of the shoot as he might have a conflict. He and Darran chose the days of the film shoot 6 months ago because it would work in with every one's schedule. However just four days ago, the camera guy told Darran that he wouldn't be available for the first two weeks and asked if they could push it back. Yeah, right.
After a bit of stress and venting, Darran let the camera guy go and prayed that he would find another DOP (camera guy) at the last minute. He felt impressed to ring a guy that he worked on a film with a couple of years ago, who happens to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Darran didn't know if he was available or if he would accept the budgeted amount of money for pay, but felt he needed to ring him. He caught the guy (Damien) during a break he had on a film set he was working on. Darran quickly told him what was going on and asked if he was available. Damien said that he was filming up until the 27 of September but was free after that and he would love to work on another movie with Darran and that he would be happy with the allotted wage that was budgeted. What an answer to prayer! With Damien not available until the 28th, and filming beginning on the 25 Darran then went to work to find an equally good camera guy to fill in for the first three days. Two days ago, he signed Gus, who was happy and available to work for the first three days and then he had another film job starting. So another pray answered.
We have had our set backs and each time it seems that something is pulling us back and preventing us from making this movie, there is a greater force pushing us forward, carrying us and listening to us and answering our prayers. We could not be doing this movie without the help of a loving and caring Heavenly Father. We have been so so blessed, and have so many more stories and experience (along with photos) to share...but for now, this will have to do as Darran needs the computer to finalize the schedule for tomorrow.
Looking forward to sharing those with you soon!
