I know it's been a while since I posted. If you haven't heard the past month has been a bit hectic with the movie that we've been filming. We finished filming the 4 weeks on Friday. We're taking the next couple weeks off to put all the footage together to see what bits and pieces we are missing. We then will film another week of those things we are missing in about 3 weeks.
The week before we started filming, I got a new laptop. The theory was to use the laptop to keep everyone updated on the progress of the film, and to have a place to store all the hundreds and thousands of photos that we would be taking during the filming. And to keep people out of Darran's office and off his computer. The theory was good, and it was working well...until a week and a half ago, when someone borrowed my laptop. Don't worry they asked to borrow it, but when I went to use it the next day, the laptop was DEAD, with an error message stating that I needed to contact the manufacture. I couldn't access any programs, I couldn't even get it to turn over from a lovely black screen. I was so distressed, to think that I had lost all those photos from the movie. They were the only copies we had as we all had to empty our memory cards to fill them up again with more photos.
Darran took my laptop to our dear friend, who is a computer guru yesterday. Explained the situation and told him that he didn't want him to fix our laptop,(it's still under warranty), but just to see if he could get the photos off the laptop. Our friend told Darran that he would have no problem getting the photos and we should have them back by the weekend. And that it isn't uncommon in laptops to get this sort of an error message. He said it usually happens when a foreign USB gets inserted to the computer, or it could be that the disk drive malfunctioned. But not to worry, because he could recover the photos. BLESS HIS HEART!
So, I just wanted to let you all know that we are alive and well, and that as soon as we get the photos back, and a new laptop, I'll post photos and stories about the making of The Playbook. Because boy, do I have stories! Oh and not to mention thousands of photos!
