Chicks at 4 weeks

I know that I have taken the month of December off...and for good reason!  We were able to go to America for Christmas and spend the holiday with my family...the first one in four years.  It was wonderful...but we'll get to that, promise!  But before we do, there are a few things that I have to post about and catch up on.  These pictures of the "babies" were taken three days before we left for America, and since I have documented their growth each week since they were born, I had to include these too.

This is Lou Lou. Have you ever seen the Mel Gibson movie Mad Max?  Their feathers at this stage totally remind me of the wild clothes that were worn in Mad Max.  Bits of feathers poking out here and there.
This is Number 1 and Number 3.  Sorry that you can't really see the detail really well, but I was trying to capture them and get everything else done before we headed overseas.  Number 1 (on right) had these wing feathers (up around her shoulders) that stuck out about a 1/2 inch.  She was rocking some major shoulder pads!
Even though their feathers are starting to come in and they look like teenagers going through that "awkward stage"  They are still really cute, right?  Wait until you see what they look like now!!!
